Adria Cumonow | Pet Project LA Director

Adria CumonowAdria is your Pet Project Director. She designed the store with the Downtown LA neighborhood in mind, creating a bright, welcoming environment where pets can come in for treats, and their owners can come in for great products, great prices, and a friendly, committed staff who know their stuff!

Lindsey Barnett | Store Manager

Lindsey BarnettLindsey, our Store Manager, has been dedicated to the success of Pet Project LA for well over two years. Since she was a child, she was always drawn to animals and had an interest in working with them. Later, she gained experience working at the local animal hospital in her hometown. Since working at Pet Project, she has made it her goal to embrace the philosophy of having a happy and healthy atmosphere. When she's not at the store she likes hanging with her kitties, Puppet and Stoli.

Xe Davis | Pet Nutrition Guru

Xe DavisXe is a 24-year-old transplant from upstate New York who grew up on a farm, bestowing her a lifetime’s experience in animal care. As a volunteer, she helped with her mother’s wildlife rehabilitation and foster care programs at the local Humane Society after school. This indoctrination into animal care provided Xe with a plethora of first hand knowledge on animal behavior, nutrition, and health. She worked with Brooklyn’s cutest pooches for five years at her own company, Brooklyn Bitch Dog Walking and Training, before moving to Los Angeles. A perfect fit for Pet Project, Xe provides our downtown residents with the answers they need!

Michael Malanga | Team Member

Michael MalangaOne thing is for sure about Michael: animals have always been a part of his life. Though he was highly allergic to everything growing up, that never stopped him from playing with and cuddling with this dogs, cats, rabbits, and mice! Being a part of the Pet Project LA family has been a win-win situation for him and his cats, Emmit and Luke. He enjoys the endless rewards in helping people better understand how to care for their animals.

Our History

In May 2011 Melanie Pozez and Jay Blumberg wanted to develop an urban pet supply store in the area they most believed in, Downtown LA. Pet Project LA was born and has become a neighborhood “happy-spot” for DTLA residents & their pets, with a focus on high-quality, holistic food, treats and toys for dogs, cats, and bunnies. As an established & committed member of the DTLA community, Pet Project is active in shaping Downtown LA into a pet-friendly place to live.

Our Neighbors

We’d like you to think of us as your neighbor. That’s why our store is conveniently located in your neighborhood, with everything your pet needs in our cozy little shop! Our in-store team members will not only help you find the right products for your pet, but will also remember your pet’s face and name.

Our Pets

We believe that people don’t own pets—our pets are our familly. As pet lovers, everything we do is genuinely designed to make pets healthy & happy. It’s this philosophy that acts as the foundation of Pet Project LA, propelling us forward as we work hard and continue to be Downtown Los Angeles’ favorite neighborhood pet store.

Our Products

We promise that we will never stock any product on our store shelves that we wouldn’t feel comfortable giving to our own pets. We are proud to be a leading supplier of safe and healthy pet care innovations, such as our extensive selection of dry and canned natural foods, nutrient-rich freeze-dried, and frozen raw foods for dogs and cats. We promise to only carry foods and treats made in North America, and nothing ever from China.
